Winter Has Come

In all black with a hint of bloody red makes me seem like a walking Bubonic Plague; or at least that’s how I’ve been feeling these past few days. Sickness has struck me and I think it’s trying to tell me that I should be better prepared in keeping myself warm now that winter has come. A trip to Winners this weekend and voilà, a wool scarf and leather gloves that cost me less than $30. If there’s anything I like about winter, it’s that I get to wear leather, wool and suede.

Morning Grind & Poetry Rhymes

It has been a while since I worked a morning shift, but it feels nice to have a trek in peace and quiet, despite the frosty chill and slippery slopes.DSC03862 DSC03864 What better way to start the morning than to listen to Daughter and have myself a bite and coffee?DSC03866 DSC03879 DSC03882

I am currently obsessing over thick, long socks, scrunched to peek out of booties. I went to Roots yesterday and am in the state of regret for not getting myself a couple of cabin socks. They’re so comfy, warm and Canadian!

For an hour, the café was terribly quiet so I went ahead and recited my poems… not that there is reason to practise.

60s Knit

Inspired by Free People and stuck in 60s mod, voilà! But who can forget iconic Twiggy and her spider lashes? Sure, I’ll never be as pretty as her, but she is such an inspiration that the least I can do is imitation. So a couple layers of mascara later….
DSC03657 DSC03651 For those non-Canadians or simply do not know, Remembrance Day is soon. It is when we commemorate soldiers that fought and died for our country. As a sign of appreciation and respect, we wear these red poppies. Canada wouldn’t be as it is today if it wasn’t for their brave hearts.DSC03660DSC03673Back to a lighter note, I thrifted this ‘made in Italy‘ sweater for $24! How crazy of a steal is that? It is a size too big, but the oversize fit just adds to the ‘cozy factor’. And if that’s not enough knit, why not throw in these thigh-high socks.

Though the softness of all these knits make me appear friendly and in all honesty, I’m not the friendliest. So as to keep my guard up, perhaps a spiked, statement necklace and stack of geometric earrings will help.DSC03669 DSC036791) Sweater: Thrifted (similar here) | 2) Corduroy Shorts: American Apparel | 3) Tights: Claire’s (similar here) | 4) Thigh-Highs: Free People (Gifted) | 5) Oxfords: Arnold Churgin (similar here) | 6) Necklace: Local Store in Granville St. Vancouver (similar here) | 7) Earrings: F21 & DIY
