Recently, I have been subconsciously inspired by British style: simple, yet has an indescribable charm. Perhaps I am lacking the eye candy of a beautiful British man who lives in 221B who’s got me poppin’ my collar. To those who are currently suffering from such deprivation, I am with you. Perhaps a third time of watching all the seasons isn’t such a bad idea… if only my GPA didn’t need a little more attention.
I have absolutely no idea what my bag says for it’s in Indonesian, but my best guess would be that it’s rice related because it’s recycled from the material used in rice bags.

I needed a little day off from everything and the beautiful, chilly weather has got me in the mood for a little exploration around one of my favourite neighbourhoods: Kensington. It is full of art, diversity and innovation: an energy I find refreshing and inspiring. A little retail therapy at a local store, Silla, and a visit to possibly my favourite café, Vendome, was my way of getting away from it all. Escapism would be incomplete without immersing myself in self-reflection and poetry. There is nothing more calming than finding time to ‘ajoute life’ into paper. A plus tard et avec l’amour!
La maladie may be getting to me, enough that it has manipulated my mind to wear my “non”s. What do I mean? I have never worn leggings as pants, earrings that are mismatched and rarely on the brown and black combo. Yet, I did all that today.
I suppose that since all the pieces can be categorized as basic, I didn’t end up looking like a hot mess. As you all know, I love achieving the illusion that I’m tall. These polka dotted leggings by UNIQLO are perfect because the fabric is magical. It can be stretched effortlessly, which allowed for this high-waisted look, and hugged my body very well as if made for my proportions.

It’s not Avril this month but Calgary weather made us fools with an all day snowstorm, not to mention some hail. Where did fall go? My family and friends were a bit concerned at the my lack of preparedness for the low temperature, but I’m not putting my fall clothes to waste. Layering is key: to look chic and stay warm. A classic wool/cashmere blend overtop a knit, collared shirt with a statement necklace asks for attention. For a little element of punk rock, these striped skinnies and black booties worked perfectly. For an unexpected touch, I used my faux fur cross-body bag.
I’ve always loved bowler hats because it has so much character but with my short pixie haircut, I am even more of a fan! This dark red, almost maroon is the perfect pop of colour. Since I didn’t want the hat to be too overpowering, adding a little more texture to my hair by curling it was a good solution!Aren’t these boots beautiful!? Not only are they wonderfully made with all the details, I got them on sale for $37.50 from its original price of $150. Such a steal! That is why shopping in America is always better than in Canada.1) Knit Grey Shirt: Nike (Gifted) (similar here) | 2) Wool/Cashmere Blend Sweater: Club Monaco (similar here) | 3) Striped Skinnies: Levi’s | 4) Boots: Kensie | 5) Bowler Hat: Minimum | 6) Spike Necklace: Store in Granville St. (similar here) | 7) Faux Fur Bag: Co-Lab
